The Dinner Party ProgramThe Dinner Party is a program designed to connect parents and children through the experience of cooking and sharing healthful foods. Children learn that their well being, long-term health and vitality are directly connected to the food they eat. The Dinner party runs for 4 sessions and is geared toward families of elementary age kids, but all are welcome. The first two sessions will focus on what it takes to create and host a dinner party: making invitations, learning about the multi-cultural recipes, learning about nutrition, table setting, some fun napkin folding practice, making decorations, sharing about family meal traditions, learning about safe food preparation and making/eating some quick nutritious snacks----- The third session will be the Dinner Party: kids and our Dinner Party assistants will prepare the Dinner Party space at Spoutwood, prepare all the food, and then share a celebratory meal with all the families. The final session, will be to create thank you notes, look at pictures, evaluate the event, and create a scrapbook and/or website page to capture all the fun. This session will include planning for future cooking adventures. The cost is $30.00 per family... to cover the cost of food and materials. We are also requesting the each family contribute a dessert.
