Food and Farming
Baltimore Eats
From the farm to the city, Baltimore Eats is a guide to good food and fine wine, with a mission to entertain, excite, and enlighten. Baltimore Eats promotes regionality by introducing local growers, vintners, restaurateurs and wholesale and retail purveyors to a rapidly expanding audience of informed consumers, and promotes an increased awareness of the ecological and economic ramifications of our food buying choices.
Beekeeper David Papke
Keeper of the hives on Spoutwood Farm, beekeeper David Papke will exhibit the tools, techniques, and final products of the beekeeper’s trade.

Broad Valley Orchard is a Certified Naturally Grown family farm located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Pennsylvania. In addition to operating a 36 family CSA, the Orchard sells to area restaurants, and have published a book entitled Getting’ By: Make your Farm Dream into your Dream Farm, with accompanying CD of original music.
Calvert Street Wine Cellars
Spoutwood Farm’s own vines are being tended by a spirited crew from Baltimore headed by Tony Pennacchia and Charles Baker. Calvert Street is where they live and thus their label.

Dietz Produce began over 30 years ago, and continues as a family operation selling homegrown fruits and vegetables along the Lincoln Highway. Deitz discontinued using herbicides on the farm in the mid 1980s, and synthetic pesticides in 2001, but so far has not become certified organic. They also sell Fair Trade coffee, tea, & cocoa in solidarity with small farmers world-wide.

Farm and Natural Lands Trust
Dedicated to preserving the farms and natural lands of York County for future generations. The Trust's work is based on voluntary agreements with local landowners to place conservation easements on their properties.
Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund
The FTCLDF provides affordable legal counsel to farmers and consumers in need, it will make the needs of the small farmer and the concerned consumer known to our government, and it will promote our shared vision: Sustainable farming and direct farm-to-consumer transactions.

Feederbrook is a small (15-acre) family owned and operated farm located in northern Baltimore County, Maryland. Animals raised include chickens, guineas, turkeys, peafowl,sheep, goats, llamasand cattle. All of the items offered are made and/or grown right on the farm. We are far from factory style farm. Everything is done by hand and as naturally as possible.

A Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm providing delicious, fresh, local, and chemical-free produce to the York and Lancaster County area. Also sells products including organic and sustainably-raised meats and dairy products from other local farms, as well as fair trade coffees, teas, chocolates and olive oil.

Mark and Vicki Solomon represent the Midwest Ox-Drovers Association, an organization dedicated not only to preserving America’s ox-droving heritage, but demonstrating how oxen can be useful in today’s world. Animal traction will be increasingly important to sustainability in the post-cheap-oil environment!

Pennsylvania Women’s Agricultural Network
The Pennsylvania Women's Agricultural Network (PA-WAgN) supports women in agriculture by providing a positive learning environment, networking, and empowerment. PA-WAgN members are women farmers, agricultural professionals, and educators committed to supporting and providing educational opportunities to women working in agriculture and ag-related businesses.
One Straw Farm
One Straw Farm is the largest organic vegetable farm in Maryland. Lovingly tended by Drew and Joan Norman since 1985, One Straw Farm supplies families, restaurants and wholesalers with the finest certified-organic produce.

Seven Valleys Vineyard and Winery offers award-winning wines to residents of southern York County and the surrounding region.
Slow Food Baltimore
The Baltimore “convivium” of Slow Food USA (http://www.slowfoodusa.org), a non-profit eco-gastronomic member-supported organization that educations people about how their food choices affect the rest of the world. Slow Food USA envisions a future food system that is based on the principles of high quality and taste, environmental sustainability, and social justice – in essence, a food system that is good, clean and fair.

Wool-Spinning Demonstration
Various wool-crafters will give demonstrations of the spinner’s art. Hand-made fiber arts by skilled artisans support both small farms and the local community.
York County Sheep to Shawl Group and Fiber Club
A local organization dedicated to artisanal wool-crafts, from sheep (raw wool) to shawl (finished product).
